About This Quote

Bea says that the art of reading is slowly dying, that it's an intimate ritual, that a book is a mirror that offers us only what we already carry inside us, that when we read, we do it with all our heart and mind, and great readers are becoming more scarce by the day. Bea loved books. She loved the covers and how they felt in her hands. She loved the way a book smelled.

And she especially loved to share her love of books with others. Books were her passion and she would spend hours every day reading to anyone who would listen. In fact, she had so much love for books that she had more than one book in each room of her house.

Unfortunately, she was not as lucky as some other people who had been born long after the invention of paper. She was among the first generation of people who only read phones or phones apps. They could not see or feel the joys of reading in print on paper because all they knew was words on a screen.
